Viral Wander-ee Complete Bike LAUNCH EDITION
We knew we’d have to enter the ‘e’ space eventually, but we wanted it to be the right product with the right spec and the right amount of special sauce to put the Viral logo on it. Our Wanderer drop bar mountain bike has been an incredible success, and there were enough of you out there clamoring for an e-bike version that we decided this would be our first product in the ‘e’ category. The first question a lot of people will ask is ‘why not the MGU (Pinion’s own ‘motor gearbox unit’) and the answer is simple: we wanted to create a very capable, but light for it’s category, all purpose gravel bike and the MGU is simply too big and too heavy for this purpose. So we decided to enter the e-market with the incredibly capable Mahle X20 motor system that integrates seamlessly into the Pinion Smart.Shift system and allows for maximum versatility. Since the Mahle system is built around a 142/12 spacing, we also decided to design the Wander-ee around a more gravel centric and lighter build than its Wanderer brother. The Wander-ee comes spec’d with the Cane Creek Invert fork to smooth out the terrain while still allowing for 29 x 2.1 tire clearance. Of course, the Wander-ee still has that do everything capability with rack and pack mounts everywhere, water bottle bosses a plenty, and a proper length dropper post to get that saddle out of the way on the chunkier bits.

Mahle X20 Motor System
The Wander-ee had to be imbued with more than just the standard motor-drive unit and couldn't just be sidelined as yet another heavy mid-drive system. Pairing a motor system with the Pinion drivetrain and doing it in such a way that the bike is both fully integrated, seamless, and wonderful to ride was always going to be a challenge, all without loosing the ethos that drives Viral Bikes: the best riding bikes on the planet, with as little maintenance as possible, and as long lasting as possible. We poured through offerings from all companies and landed on the Mahle X20 system as being the most cohesive for our brand, for the Pinion drivetrain, and for the end consumer. With a wonderfully robust app that allows the end user to dial in their preferences for support in every e-bike mode, to the integration with the Smart.Shift system, the Mahle X20 was the absolute no brainer application for our first e-bike. Mid-thirty pounds as a complete bike and with an optional battery extender, the Viral Wander-ee is the perfect do everything companion. Plug and play, easy wheel removal, and completely rideable without e-assist, we insured that the Wander-ee was a gravel bike first, and an e-bike second, without loosing ground in either department.

The Mahle X20 Motor is the lightest ebike motor on the market. Internally run cables and automatic plug in with wheel installation make the X20 a very clean, beautifully designed motor system with the attention to detail you would expect on every Viral bike.

The Wander-ee was built to ride, and the Cane Creek Invert adds comfort to that ride wherever you decide to Wander.
HMI
The Wander-ee integrates Mahle's HMI directly into the frame, limiting wires and clutter. The single button ON/OFF and one touch cycle between modes is simple and intuitive .
Passive Suspension
Viral has pioneered the passive suspension system for the Wanderer and Wander-ee adventure bikes. The seat tube is not welded to the top tube, but instead 'suspended' on a flex plate welded to the seat stays offering passive suspension despite the stiffness of dropper posts.
Pinion C1.12i Gearbox
600% range means a higher high gear and a lower low gear for tackling anything the world will throw at you. Packed out and loaded, you still have the gear range to get you there.

The LAUNCH EDITION Wander-ee comes with an upgraded AXS dropper post for easier cable management (there is none) and ease of use. Zirbel Components developed the tiny button hidden under the TRP Hywire hood that allows compatibility with the SRAM dropper post.
